About the course

Applications are invited for places on this MSc Programme commencing September 2018, which provides an excellent academic basis for those doctors or allied health professionals aiming for a career in Rheumatology or related speciality.  Medical applicants should be medically qualified and have had at least 2 years’ general medical experience following qualification.  Previous experience in rheumatology is desirable but not essential.  Applications from general practitioners, hospital-based doctors, and overseas based doctors are welcome.  For the first time we have now also opened the programme to Allied Health Professionals, who should be at a Consultant Nurse or Physiotherapist level.
 
The programme is undertaken part-time over 2 years.

Clinical Skills
Peripheral Joint Problems
Spine and Bone
Basic Science
Connective Tissue Disease and Vasculitis
Epidemiology of Musculoskeletal Disease
  • Research skills teaching
  • A supervised research project (which may be either clinical or laboratory based).  This is an integral part of the course.
