After completing this course of modules, you should be able to:

  • Feel confident in assessing and diagnosing patients presenting with symptoms of stroke or a subarachnoid haemorrhage
  • Manage patients with ongoing neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and motor neurone disease, including the initial diagnosis and ongoing multidisciplinary management
  • Feel confident in making a diagnosis of Bell’s palsy, and in ruling out serious causes of unilateral facial weakness such as stroke
  • Be able to perform a full and an abbreviated cranial nerve examination in a logical, comprehensive sequence and know the significance of some common or clinically serious abnormal neurological findings.
