This advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery workshop is intended to provide the attendee with the opportunity to practice and enhance the operative skills in this area. In addition to providing a sound understanding of the essential fundamentals and underpinning principles of laparoscopic colorectal surgery, this hands-on, practical laparoscopic workshop will help consolidate the theoretical knowledge and skills learnt by those individuals who attend the Live Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery Course in the previous two days. The course, convened by the renowned Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon Prof. P. N. Haray and supported by an experienced faculty, is suitable for senior trainees and consultant surgeons in colorectal surgery who wish to enhance their practical skills and attain invaluable tips to perform laparoscopic colorectal surgery in an effective manner. In this specially developed course, the attendee will receive direct Consultant supervision to perform advanced laparoscopic colorectal procedures including Hemicolectomies, Splenic Flexure Mobilisation and Anterior Resection on specially prepared animal models. The course is run in conjunction with Welsh Centre for Minimal Access Therapy (WIMAT) that produces advanced state-of-the-art surgical training models.
