About the course

Our one-day CORE US final sign-off days are designed for candidates who meet the criteria for Core ultrasound sign-off and are looking for a way to complete their triggered assessments and final sign-off in a time-efficient manner, or who simply require some support to get through the final stage of the process.

The day consists of a short scanning session where candidates can get used to our machines and receive feedback on their approach to each scan, followed by an OSCE style triggered assessment session where candidates will be assessed on each modality by our expert faculty.

Candidates attending the course with the aim of full sign-off will be required to present evidence of attendance at a Core US course (or evidence of completion of all RCEM learning US modules), a logbook with at least 40 scans (these do not need to be supervised scans) with evidence of pathology in each modality, and 10 reflective cases. The full RCEM core US guidance can be found at https://www.rcem.ac.uk/docs/Training/1.14.5%20RCEM-EMUS-booklet%20(3).pdf

Our faculty is happy to provide guidance in the lead up to the course regarding the format required for reflective logbooks, technical issues or clarification on sign-off requirements.
