Medicine for All: Renal
Provided by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow
About the course
Physicians working across all areas of medicine will now encounter patients on wards with co-morbidities. This presents new challenges for clinicians and the need for an understanding of general internal medicine over a range of specialities.
This half day will address renal medicine. The first part of the conference will focus on management of common renal issues in acute medical receiving including acute kidney injury, the sick dialysis patient and patients with renal transplant. The second part deals with complications of chronic kidney disease including anaemia, bone mineral disease and hypertension.
The aim is to improve confidence in managing patients with renal disease and provide some useful tips to optimise their care. This will be particularly relevant for all healthcare professionals involved in the acute medical take or managing patients with co-morbidities.
