About the course

Every paediatrician will encounter many child protection cases during their clinical career and it is likely that a high proportion of these will require written reports, with some cases leading to legal proceedings. On occasion some paediatricians may accept an instruction to appear as an expert witness. The RCPCH has developed this popular and successful two day course in conjunction with medical and legal experts. These experts are highly trained and bring vast amounts of experience from within the safeguarding sector. The central objective of this course s to increase knowledge of legal proceedings, develop competences in engaging with proceedings and build confidence amongst paediatricians to tackle this area of work.
