About the course

Developed exclusively for medical students, this highly interactive one day course will teach you how to safely perform basic surgical procedures.

Working with animal tissue, simulations and a variety of jigs, you will develop essential core skills within a workshop environment.

After attending this course, you should be able to practice a range of essential surgical procedures, including: 

  • Gowning and gloving
  • Knot tying
  • Handling instruments
  • Suturing techniques
  • Local anaesthetic techniques and skin lesions 

This course teaches practical skills in a workshop environment, alongside individual tuition sessions and personal feedback during your assessment. This makes the learning experience far more interactive than lecture-based courses available elsewhere.
