The course aims to introduce delegates to: • The anatomy and physiology of the maxillary sinus • The aetiology of bone loss in this area • Evidence based decision making in relation to implant restoration in the posterior maxilla. • Biologically based surgical technique • The use of biomaterials and bone harvesting techniques • Lateral window and osteotome techniques in sinus augmentation • Experience based complication management • ENT perspective of the maxillary sinus The above aims will be achieved using a multifaceted teaching approach including lectures, small group discussion, practical model based hands on sessions, cadaveric dissection and live surgery.
