About the course
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), a major component of the Royal College of Surgeons' Membership Examination (MRCS), may be of a format unfamiliar to many potential examinees. This two and a half day course was designed as a preparation for the MRCS OSCE examination and as such aims to familiarise participants with the OSCE set-up, process and content and help participants identify gaps in their skill and knowledge base as appropriate to the exam. It includes focused teaching, lots of practice and individual feedback from examiners. This course is aimed at ST2 level. Please note that participants are welcome to attend both this course and also the Edinburgh MRCS OSCE Preparation Course if they wish

Learning Outcomes - By the end of the course the participant should be able to: 1. Describe the contents and skills required to pass the MRCS OSCE. 2. Identify any gaps in their knowledge/skill base relevant to the MRCS OSCE. 3. Apply effective examination technique relevant to the MRCS OSCE. 4. Describe the set-up and format of a typical MRCS OSCE examination.
