About the course
This seminar has been designed to investigate current practice for posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). This condition is the commonest event in the vitreous and is the major cause of virtreoretinal disorders such as retinal detachment and macular conditions. The correct management of PVD is uncertain. There is considerable variability in the clinical assessment of PVD in the community and in the hospital. PVD is a common cause of medicolegal referral. The seminar will look at the symptoms, pathology, modelling, management and therapy of PVD. The hope is to start a discussion of the condition to aim for a consensus on how to manage PVD and what standards of care are reasonable and achievable.
