This session chaired by Miss Stella Hornby will cover topics relevant for continuing professional development for general ophthalmologists, GPs with a special interest in ophthalmology and Optometrists with an extended role as well as for those involved in commissioning. Topics this year will include an update on Giant Cell Arteritis, Ocular side effects of Biologic therapy for cancer, Botox in the 21st century and new surgical options for glaucoma management as well as interpretation of visual fields and how to increase uptake of diabetic eye screening from General Practice. Results of a Service redesign project in Oxfordshire (Minor Eye Conditions Scheme) and also outcomes from the London Local Eye Health Network including IT pilots will be covered. The style will be friendly and interactive and would be relevant to any doctor (trainee or not) and/ or optometrist who sees general ophthalmology patients in a community or hospital setting and delegates will be encouraged to join in the discussion with questions or comments from their own experience.
