Undergraduate Medical Students from any UK University.

Learning Style

A selection of Oral and Poster Presentations from Medical Students and Surgical Trainees and some guest lectures.

Aims & Objectives

Run in conjunction with Edinburgh University, School of Surgery Day. The morning programme provides a forum for high quality student research to be presented in both oral and poster format. The afternoon session which focuses on research conducted by surgical trainees, gives medical students who have an interest in Academic Surgery an opportunity to engage and network with surgical trainees, consultants, academics’ and senior clinicians.

Learning Outcomes

1. To increase awareness of the importance of clinical research in surgery amongst medical students; 2. To give medical students an opportunity to present oral and poster research as well as a chance to network with senior clinicians, who may in the future be willing to act as a supervisor or senior surgical contact.
