About the  course

Getting a photo “right” can make a huge difference in managing patients: whether it’s a skin lesion or injury that needs to be discussed with colleagues, or a rash or ulcer that has to be monitored, a well-taken photograph can be invaluable to the clinician and can make an important contribution to our daily practice.

This course addresses the technical, ethical and legal considerations that present themselves to clinicians when photographing patients. Types of camera, lighting, composition and the “three-photo principle” are addressed alongside the medico-legal issues of consent, confidentiality and data protection. The courses are run by experienced doctors and professional photographers. Make-up artists add a bit of drama by using fake blood and skin wax to create mock injuries!

Successful completion of the assessment on Day 3 will confer eligibility to apply for Licentiate of the British Institute of Professional Photography, with LBIPP post-nominal.

All camera equipment is provided by Patient Focused! as part of the course. Lunch and refreshments are also included in the price.
