MSc Laparoscopic Surgery and Surgical Skills

About the course
This unique MSc accelerates surgical training and improves surgical skills that are essential for building confidence in clinical practice. The course offers the opportunity to develop or extend expertise in established and rapidly developing areas of Laparoscopic Surgery.
The programme is offered in 2 study modes: full time onsite (1 year) or part time online (2 years)
Both programmes are designed to allow novice learning and skills mastery to occur in a low-stress environment while protecting the patient from procedural inexperience. Students will gain a clear understanding of the concept and theories surrounding the issues of research and critical appraisal along with academic writing.
Onsite students will be taught in our Virtual Reality Surgical Simulation Centre, whilst online learners will use virtual reality technology and take-home simulators to master the same skills.
Modules studied: Laparoscopic Skills, Laparoscopic Suturing Skills, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (Procedure) Skills, Bowel Anastomosis Skills, Research Methods, Dissertation.
