About the course

This is a one day course for consultants at any stage in their career in radiology or clinical oncology, wishing to develop their own and their department’s leadership in order to provide quality and safety improvement.

The day will provide an introduction to the NHS Leadership framework with a focus on primary driver 3, knowledge of improvement methods and how to use them at all levels within the NHS anywhere in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. We will explore the links between Quality Improvement and Clinical Governance as well as how to bring about change in the workplace illustrated by the sharing of real projects.

Practical approaches to coping with floundering projects, struggling staff and working with patients and families will be shared as well as tips on how to communicate your ideas to senior managers and what other resources are available.

An interactive, discursive approach will be used throughout to encourage the sharing of experiences and challenges.
