About the course
Overview
A full day session to update DCPs in some of the GDC highly recommended topics. Topics we discuss in this lecture and workshop format include: ETHICS AND COMPLAINTS - where we will look in detail at Personal Development Plans and the personal and professional responsibilities of being a registrant with the GDC. Consider the principals of complaints handling in dental environments; INFECTION CONTROL – we will look at the DoH guidance document HTM 01 05 and explore how to comply with essential quality requirements and best practice. You will receive training in the transmission of infections; DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY – we will explore legislation IR(ME)R and IRR and what it means to DCPs. Explain the principals of dental radiography and identify quality assurance techniques to support multi professional patient care.

This course aims to provide DCPs with current guidance and legislation requirements for a number of their CORE topics with the GDC.

After attending this one day session, delegates will be able to: 1) Describe the importance of using a Personal Development Plan to structure lifelong learning and development 2) Identify quality assurance techniques to support multi professional patient care 3) Explain the principles of dental radiography 4) Comply with essential quality requirements and best practice as per the DoH guidance document HTM 01 05
