Return to Training – Dealing with Common Emergencies and Problems
Provided by Bromley Emergency Training and Research Ltd
About the course
Are you on an “F3” year? Or have taken time out of training?
This two day course is specifically designed for doctors who have had time out of training – such as an out of placement year, maternity leave or career break – as part of Health Education England’s Supported Return to Training programme.
The course focuses on the management of medical emergencies, and will benefit doctors working in all specialties where medical emergencies may occur.
Taught by physicians with broad experience of acute and emergency problems, the two day course consists of short lectures on best management, and OSCEs to put these into practice in realistic clinical scenarios. The simulation provided in the course is designed to allow candidates to build confidence in identifying and managing medical emergencies, through practical application of the national guidelines taught.
Topics covered include:
- Advanced Life Support/Anaphylaxis
- Respiratory emergencies
- Cardiac emergencies
- Sepsis and shock
- Neurological emergencies
