The British Thoracic Society is pleased to announce this one-day course focussing on an Introduction to Service Improvement in Respiratory Medicine. It is predominately aimed at consultants in post for 2 years or less, senior trainees approaching their CCT and nurses, physiotherapists and physiologists interested in improving and developing respiratory services. The aim of the workshop is to provide a practical introduction into improving existing respiratory services within the changing landscape of the NHS and to equip delegates with the tools and techniques required.

Delegates will gain an appreciation and understanding of:

  • New changes in the NHS and how it might affect you
  • Demystifying NHS finance
  • Engaging and influencing the Commissioners
  • Models of integrated care in respiratory medicine
  • Service improvement in COPD
  • Writing a good business case
  • Insights from the national Medical Director and future directions
