About the course

We have created this one day Introduction to Ultrasound for Acute Medicine based on our already successful Core (level 1) Emergency Ultrasound Course. We have consulted with a number of physicians to ensure this course meet the needs of Ds working in acute medicine and dealing with medical emergencies and admissions.  This course focuses on:

Chest Scanning, Echo, Vascular Access, Basic Abdominal Ultrasound, DVT assessment

The course includes focussed teaching on the key skills and 5 hours of practical experience in small groups. The course is limited to 15 places with four faculty working with normal subjects. The course includes experience with 5 different portable US machines and a hand-held device of the type now increasingly being used in clinical settings.
