About the course

Transform the future of public health

Outdated health policy risks the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. To initiate change and improve medical provision, interdisciplinary and collaborative education is key. Our Online Master of Public Health (MPH) gives you the experience needed to help drive the necessary changes to safeguard public health without interrupting your career.

Our distance learning programme takes an international approach to public health and puts emphasis on original research. Our Master of Public Health is widely recognised by businesses and health organisations around the world and opens careers in teaching, health programme management, epidemiology, and academic research.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that no country, regardless of income, is immune to the effects of a contagious disease. Crucial to tackling it effectively requires an in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of public health principles and practice as well as epidemiology, health protection and health promotion. University of Glasgow Master of Public Health scholars graduate with a variety of skills, meaning they can make a significant difference to whatever public health environment they find themselves working in.

Run by the college of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences, home to world leading expertise across a diversity of discipline, the programme features interdisciplinary expertise from environmental protection, health economics and sociology.

Through its research, the institute has been at the forefront of evaluating major public health interventions, including the countries current alcohol misuse strategy and Scotland’s smoking ban. It’s this focus on life -changing research that elevates the programme content.
