About the course

Aims:
  • Establish your skills to deliver a comprehensive POCUS study on critically ill and trauma patients
  • Gain competencies in all domains of POCUS laid out in the Royal College of Emergency Medicine 2021 guidelines
  • Practice the RUSH protocol for the shocked patient, including DVT assessment
Sessions:
  • Small teaching groups (max 3 candidates per group, 1 tutor per group) to maximise scanning time with state-of-the-art US machines and hand-held devices
  • Expert faculty of Consultants in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine and Intensive Care
  • 4.5 hrs of hands-on practice on models, high-tech simulators and clinical scenarios
  • High-quality phantom models for Vascular Access and Fascia Iliaca Block practice
Our course is delivered both through remote learning, with pre-recorded lectures, allowing a self-paced approach to the theory of POCUS, and an intense half-day of practice on healthy models, high fidelity phantoms and simulated clinical scenarios.
