About the course
This course is part of the RCOG Core Knowledge series.
Induction of labour is one of the most common obstetric interventions, with prolonged pregnancy the most frequent indication for this intervention. This course will review the indications, methods, outcomes and management of this intervention.
When you have completed this course you will be able to:
- describe methods of induction of labour
- describe indications and contraindications for induction of labour
- describe complications of induction of labour
- describe methods of management and complications of prolonged pregnancy
- describe management of labour after induction
- counsel women about induction of labour.
This course is intended to help clinicians gain core knowledge for O&G training and the MRCOG examinations. It can also be used by O&G consultants to refresh their knowledge of the area or for teaching.
