- counsel women with pre-existing diabetes preconceptually
- educate women on the potential complications of diabetes in pregnancy
- empower women with pre-existing diabetes, involving them in shared decision making
- understand the role of different therapies in improving glycaemic control
- manage woman with pre-existing diabetes throughout their pregnancy and postnatally
- advise women with pre-existing diabetes about contraception.
