Thromboembolism

When you have completed this course, you will be able to:

• describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology and risk factors in venothromboembolism in pregnancy
• diagnose venothromboembolism in pregnancy by clinical assessment and organise appropriate investigations
• appropriately treat a pregnant or postpartum woman with confirmed venothromboembolism
• recognise who needs to be given thromboprophylaxis to prevent venothromboembolism.

Miss Ritu Dalmia MRCOG (2019)

Miss Dalmia is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at The Royal Oldham Hospital with an interest in maternal medicine and medical education.

This course is intended to help clinicians gain core knowledge for O&G training and the MRCOG examinations. It can also be used by O&G consultants to refresh their knowledge of the area or for teaching.

CiP 12: Non-emergency obstetrics
Manages pre-existing medical conditions in the pregnant woman
Manages conditions arising in pregnancy
