Overview

Intermediate skills in colorectal robotic-assisted surgery is an in-person course which aims to give s enior surgical trainees (ST6-ST8) the chance to d evelop their skills in robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) and to learn the essential principles and steps for performing key robotic colorectal procedures and hernia surgery.

This course will run as a half-day session and will focus on delivering basic-intermediate skills in robotic-assisted surgery using high fidelity synthetic models.

What’s covered:

By attending this course, you’ll be able to develop your skills in specific RAS procedures, including:

  • Segmental colectomy / right hemicolectomy

  • Anterior resection

  • Inguinal hernia repair

This course is run by Charlotte El-Sayed, ST7 Colorectal Surgery/ Dukes Club President, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Who is this course for?

The i ntermediate skills in colorectal robotic-assisted surgery course is designed for higher surgical trainees from ST6-ST8 who preferably have had previous exposure to RAS surgery either through bed side assist or from undertaking a RAS simulation programme.
