About the course

Alcohol-related brain damage (ARBD) is a relatively new term that encompasses a range of syndromes, rather than focusing on the classic description of Korsakoff's syndrome.

ARBD presents major challenges to healthcare services, including repeated acute hospital admissions and a high level of morbidity. It is thought to be significantly under-diagnosed for various reasons, including issues relating to awareness, screening, service pathways and treatment options.

This module aims to improve your knowledge and awareness of ARBD. During the module you will have the opportunity to listen to audio accounts from a patient and their carer about the specialised rehabilitation services for ARBD.
